Which software allows you to keep files up-to-date and deleted in accordance with retention policies?

Is there software, or is it possible using OS tools (Windows Server 2012-2019), to automatically keep file information in folders up to date.
There is such a thing in e-mail, a storage policy is hung on the folder (for example, 2 years) and then the letter is automatically archived or deleted. You need about the same for files. A storage policy is hung on the folder, for example, the same 2 years and files that were modified 2 years ago are automatically deleted or archived. Also, the user can hang a different policy on any file and it will override the folder policy.

You can write the script yourself, for example in Powershell. To override storage policies, for example, use the user to enter information into a special file, and have the script check it and make a decision based on the conditions.

The file server role, it seems to me, can help you.
