Which simple game engine to choose for android?

I will say that a similar topic already exists, but it is already more than two years old. Actually, a question. Which game engine for android should be chosen to implement a simple game?
It is desirable that "sit down and go", without losing a lot of time. I write under android, but I have not come across games yet. For the project, I wrote the menu interface, but then there are problems.
Who will advise what?
PS The usual 2D game without unnecessary effects.

Simple and well documented: LibGDX - Java.
Not very simple and with shitty documentation: Cocos2d-x - C++.

For 2D without superfluous effects better than SDL did not come up with anything, IMHO.
