Which router to choose for home?

There is an old router, the signal is stable, but when you connect a TV set to it via WI-FI to watch IPTV channels, it does not stand up and is cut off.
There is a router issued by the provider, but it is complete shit.
Resets connections, the signal is not stable even at a distance of 5 cm, it heats up.
I want to buy a normal router for home, not expensive, but high quality.
The following will be connected to the router: One TV set-top box
with a cable to show IPTV channels
One TV via WI-FI to watch IPTV channels
Two laptops via WI-FI ( It is important that one of them supports only the 11g standard )
Five phones via WI-FI
WI-FI
Would like to hear solutions from personal experience?
My choice fell on ASUS RT-N12 VP, but I don't know if it suits me?
How the story ended
I bought myself a TP-LINK TL-WR841N for 1200 rubles
Although they offered TP-LINK TL-WR842, I decided not to overpay 1000 rubles for functionality that I do not need.
TP-LINK TL-WR841N - did not set up absolutely anything, bought it, inserted a cable, everything started working: iptv, internet.
It has been working for 5 days already, the signal is excellent, it does not heat up, there is no dropping the connection, the ping is stable, the web face opens instantly.
All devices are excellent.
In general, I am not happy with this router.
Thank you all for your help.

Normal router.
But I would also advise (according to operating experience) to look at TP-LINK TL-WR841N (but not the neighboring younger model WR741N ... which our craftsmen are trying to foist).

Mikrotik. And I would argue with those who say "this is not for average minds." The settings most housewives need are placed in QuickStart (or something like that) and understandable to anyone.

Svyatoslav Nemato :
I have a question, I have 2 suggestions:
TP-Link
MikroTiK
Why ask everyone why this particular product?
The capabilities and characteristics of the routers will not change.
By the way, I completely forgot, if not MikriTiK with TP-Link, that is, Zyxel Keenetic, there are no complaints about the quality and stability, there are more opportunities than in TP-Link.
Well, do not forget about your choice of Asus - there are no complaints, I have a repeater working for them and it's not bad at all. But there are very few settings, but it works stably.
For the sake of interest, look for the settings (screenshots) for each router, you can see their capabilities.
By Mikrotik, it's better to look for winbox - a management program (more convenient than a web interface).

A router is the same computer it has a processor, RAM and flash memory the more powerful the processor and the more RAM the better the faster the packets will be processed the more RAM and the more powerful the processor the more packets the router can process
in any router there is NAT its task is to convert ip addresses, for example, 192.168.1.101 to 65.96.14.77, this is a resource-intensive task if the router has a weak processor and little RAM, then the router cannot process many packets, as a result, the speed drops or the router freezes
At this point in time, NOT all routers can work correctly with ipv6
, I will list those that they can Mikrotik, d'link can (
I recommend to buy), but in TP-Link routers ipv6 support is declared but it does not work normally
