Please advise a budget RFID reader/writer interested in working with 125khz tags.

all devices work at 125 khz, what's the catch?
A little confusing in the description on Ali is the phrase "This product is 125KHz RFID EM4100 Card reader/Writer and Issuer, But just output 8-10 digit ID card number and automatically write/upload it on your application software, If you need write your reference orginal number on ID card,Please bid another product model": what does reference original number mean?
