Which programming environment for C should I choose?

A very stupid question for a beginner, but still ...
I chose a language (C) and the first book - Kernighan, Ritchie - "The C Programming Language".
But did not choose the environment.
I was already going to install Microsoft Visual Studio, but I decided to read the reviews ... no one advises a beginner to use this environment.
So which one to use then?
I have Windows 7.

For starters, try without a development environment. Just write a couple of programs with a notepad and a compiler.
Then Microsoft Visual Studio Express. It's free.
It is possible still Borland C ++ Builder. But on VS there is still more information. And conflict situations will be faster to google and resolve.

Learn Vim . It has a fairly high threshold of entry, but when you care about the main hotkeys, the performance becomes prohibitive.
