Which platform is more suitable for electronic document management?
In our organization, the implementation of the electronic document turnover system is being designed. I recently got a job here. General EDMS The program does not suit us, so we hired a programmer, he implements it on a Java server on WebLogic, and the Postgres database is also his first experience. I suggested in PHP (yii) because I am well aware of what you advise for EDMS which is more suitable?

In fact, these "general SED programs" are general in order to adapt to all sorts of needs.
If they didn’t please you with something, then you don’t need a document flow, but something else.
Well, judging by the first experience and mentioning PHP (yii) as a "platform", I think that you will inevitably fail and waste time and money.
I have 10 years of experience in implementing such projects.
There are many platforms. There is not much difference if there is someone with the skill of implementation. I can implement anywhere and on anything.
But over the years, I came to the conclusion that it is not the platform that matters, but the ideology. I realized that workflow based on the ideology of bpm workflow is evil. Processes become brittle. I develop and practice the bpm ACM ideology. Adaptive case management. It is much simpler and more flexible. Even very complex processes based on it are easier to implement and they turn out to be less fragile, especially in design matters.
I tried to make such systems on 1s, directum, bitrix, alfresco, etc. Eventually I settled on WordPress. It turned out to be the most suitable platform. Now, on its basis, we are building such systems in real estate, construction, and restaurant companies. And practice has shown that the industry is not important here, and the main thing is ideology. Otherwise, implementation and processes can turn into hell.
General EDMS Programs are not suitable for us
If you have a Javist - look at Cuba .
Please note that in the answers, no one really talks about the platform. It is much more difficult to analyze and describe business processes. Much more difficult. Think about this first.
Take a look at Alvex in particular and Alfresco in general (especially since there is already a Javer). Open source, there are paid editions.
