Which phonegap tutorial do you recommend?

docs.phonegap.com doesn't explain anything but hello world. And the APIs are hosted directly on github, which makes a noob like me stand on end. I would like to find something not very outdated, explaining a couple of applications with examples. Language Russian or English.
