Which of the htaccess files for Modx is considered the main one?

By default, when installing Modx, several htaccess files are created (yes, more precisely ht.access - in the core folder, in the root folder and in the manager folder, which must be renamed to .htaccess). But which one is the main one? In which of them to write a 301 redirect and so on? Should I delete the rest?

The main one is at the root of the site. The rest should not be deleted, unless of course you are using nginx.
