Where do the dots in the file path come from?

Created a Pictures source . Settings:

Added it to TV'shke.
Now when I edit a record from this TV, I open the uploader and select a file, the path to it is saved with a dot.

And sometimes the point is not affixed. I couldn't understand the logic, any ideas?

It stands for "Same Folder"
