Which monitor to choose for the encoder?

Hey!
I look at different models of monitors on the market, I just can’t find something good for myself.
I have an IPS matrix on my laptop, 15", FullHD, 144Hz. I get high from the pixel density, and color reproduction, sharpness, and especially the refresh rate. But there is not enough space, you can’t really rummage around in the "spaghetti code")
I'm looking for a decent monitor, but everyone I worked with (both 2k and 4k, I don’t talk about full hd) terribly hurts my eyes - everything floats in the evening, I can’t focus on anything.Despite the fact that there is no such effect from the laptop screen, it’s very comfortable, you switch between a dark editor and a light application. And
here is the question - is the magic of IPS?All other displays after it seem soapy, regardless of resolution.

1. It would be worth checking the monitors for flicker. Now, in most cases, flickering at exorbitant frequencies, which will not bring harm, but still ...
2. If the pixel density is low, try turning off ClearType on that monitor.
3. Lower laptop contrast?
4. Tweak the lighting? - due to the larger area on the big screen, lighting becomes more important.
