Which monitor to choose for MacBook Pro Retina?

I want to buy a monitor for a MacBook Pro 2017. I took a 24" Full HD monitor from a friend and realized that it was a pain. What should be the characteristics of the monitor so that this pain does not exist?) I am considering options of 23-27 inches. I liked the Dell P2418D , 23.8" 2560x1440, but according to the article How to choose an external monitor for Mac on such a monitor, the system scale will be small.

Well, take at least 2k with an IPS matrix. The rest is up to you
Ideally 4k if you don't save
