Video processing

Which Mac software is ideal for video editing?

I want to comfortably and conveniently process roles from an action camera on Apple.
I tried the standard iMovie, but that's why it's standard, so as not to impress :) I haven't tried anything else. Don't want to waste time trying "everything". That's why I turn to the experts.
Task: process video from GoPro for yourself.
Wishlist: the presence of normal effects, presets, etc.

Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. More alternatives for Mac OS X.

Try Final Cut Pro.

Adobe Premiere, possibly in conjunction with AfterEffect, or older versions of Final Cut. The new one is too slow and with a rather stupid interface.

Final Cut Pro X. I've been using it for almost three years, excellent editing.
According to the specifications, GoPro records h.264 and wraps it up in MP4. If you choose Final Cut Pro 7, then you will have to transcode the material into a codec that is more convenient for the program - one of the Apple ProRes types. Final Cut Pro X handles h.264 without any problems, as do the latest versions of Adobe Premiere.
