Which local search engine to choose?

There is a web server (without Internet access, linux), there is a folder with a lot of text files on it, you need to organize a search by the contents of the files.
Recommend a search engine (preferably, but not required, in php).

Try the Linux find command. If this is not enough (in terms of speed or quality), then index with Sphinx.
From php it is convenient to work with both.
