Which laptop to choose for kids under $400?

Recommend an inexpensive laptop, up to $400
The previous Lenovo g570 patient was destroyed by children in a year. The lid latches loosened, it didn’t hold at all, it was almost impossible to wash the case from greasy fingers, the keyboard was quite fragile)

IMHO fumbling with any working device with children who bring equipment to such a state is unprofitable.
It's easier to buy them a bigger tablet, it will cost $200-250 for an excellent tablet, which will handle cartoons and games, and at the same time is quite bulletproof.

But it's better to add another $100 and buy a desktop computer with a good monitor, comfortable keyboard and at least 2 times faster than that laptop
