Which is better: a subdomain or a new section of the site?
I decided to rent a subdomain on a trust site. Because of its age and link mass. To make it easier to move in the search engine. But they say that the domain does not transfer the reference mass to the subdomain. And I don't know if it's worth it. It's just that there are some sites that have rented out their subdomains, and the pages of the site that are hosted on this subdomain are now in the top for key queries. So it makes sense...
And I don't know if it's worth renting a subdomain from a trust site, or should I create a new domain and develop myself?

The weight from the parent domain is really not transferred if there is no linking with the subdomain. However, it is worth noting that sites on subdomains of trusted domains really go to the top faster. The point here is not in weight, but rather in some kind of trust transferred by the main domain (if any).
Therefore, analyze the competitors in the search results, see if there are subdomains in the top for the queries you are interested in. If what you described applies specifically to your requests, then I recommend making a site on a subdomain.
