NFS

Which file spacing system to choose?

The task is as follows: you need to share a shared folder with materials for the lesson on 15+ computers under Linux Mint. The folder lies on the teacher's computer (laptop), the students solve problems, the teacher collects and checks everything. While using Dropbox, everything was fine, but the problem is that when mass loading workstations (the beginning of the lesson) on a slow channel, everything slows down wildly. And not only that, for some reason it resets some files :( then I have to restore the previous version.
As an option, I consider NFS - what can be a rake? Among the shortcomings: one point of failure - a teacher's computer.
I also thought about bittorrent sync ... Maybe the community will advise something :)

At me for lessons and a lab it is made so.
/profname/lessons/x (lesson name)/x (lesson number) read-only
/profname/homework/x (lesson name)/x (lesson number)/ lastname_name" or if the group work is "group number_lastname1_firstname1_lastname2_name2"
in the homework folder, they have rights to read the folder and write to the folder they created.
They can also see who else submitted the work (created a folder), but they can’t see or delete files (there is only a listing) They made each user have their own login and password
on samba
(login via ldap)
Students can also view and upload everything from home. A VPN is configured for this, and who is too lazy, that is, web-vpn and just a web portal for this
