Which external drive to choose for time machine backups from 2 poppies?
Advise which external drive to choose for backups?
The volume is from 2TB, super speed is not important, but I don’t want specific brakes either, and the main thing is to be as reliable as possible in terms of breakdowns.

With such a formulation of the question - the one who has a longer warranty.
WD Mybook 2 TB has been working for me for 5 years for backups of the Macmini time machine. Flight is normal. Fast, reliable, hassle-free. Cons - noisy and vibration on the table (cured by cutting out the lining from a piece of corrugated cardboard from the first box that came to hand)
also for macbook backups, the latest generation 2 GB typecapsule has been used for 4 years. it also serves as a router for the whole house. without remarks.
Now, for a similar task of yours, I would buy a time capsule according to the ad - there are a lot of them, the price is low ...
From the point of view of the drive manufacturer, I would take Hitachi (HGST), or the top WDs, which are actually HGST (study real photos). Another option is Toshiba (they also have drives that were Hitachi), but some of their models can occasionally be weird.
From the point of view of even better reliability, take two disks. Ideally, buy them in different places, so that they are from different batches and each one goes to us on his own.
