Which encryption algorithm is best for Arduino?

Hello! I ask for your help or just advice. I am a student and as a coursework I was given the task to make a GPS tracker that will send a signal to the server about my location in encrypted form. It remains to solve the problem of encrypting the POST request. It was advised to use SSL for this project, I also found information on imported libraries in arduino on foreign forums that work on a particular algorithm. (AES, RTEA, TOTP, XOR, XTEA, Magma, SPECK, Vernam) and yet I have doubts.
What is the best algorithm for this task? Thank you.
