Which distribution is right for a developer?

Hello!
Please advise what would be the best way to switch to a person who was 95% on Windows, and then I wanted to change the situation. I can work on the command line, I just want to better understand the operation of the OS, its structure and features. I know that the question looks a little strange, because you can download any distribution kit and look at your folders and write to the console ... you just want the cleanest tool, only for development

Take Ubuntu, it's enough for work

You should not get off Windows right away
Kill a couple of Linux installations on a virtual machine

Mint or bubuntu are usually advised.
UPD:
The most clean, sorry, do not pull. Because there you need to know a lot about how Linux itself works, how it works, how to set it up, break it down and fix it in almost all cases - on your own.
If you really want to take a risk - Gentoo (you can Calculate), Slakware, LFS - welcome to the hell, sourcer! :)
