Which CMS to choose for a store based on a number of criteria?
I was going to update a small online store, and faced the problem of choosing cms for further development.
The search for special favorites did not reveal, so I decided to write here.
I have experience mainly with Opencart, but I haven’t noticed any real development since version 1.5, the developers seem to have been supporting and rewriting what they have for a year now. The current site is on Drupal 6, I think it's clear why I wanted to change.
So, criteria:
Convenience of adding
goods I am not engaged in the goods, and I would like a convenient and understandable filling forum.
In the same opencart, we have a bunch of tabs with dozens of fields in each, of which only the name, descriptions, seo, category, warehouse, quantity and price are needed. Of course, everything superfluous can be removed, but I have not seen ready-made and convenient implementations even among the modules.
And there is not convenient for a simple user to download images, because. it's easier for the user to click the file-upload, and not open a strange file manager with an inconvenient search, and alternative fm doesn't do much better either. In cs-cart, by the way, it is conveniently done in terms of the ability to select a local download, or a file from the server.
SEO
There is a strange situation with almost everyone, in general, the possibility of basic SEO settings is present for everyone. Only now the time has passed when one CNC with the possibility of tagging with titles was enough.
It should also be convenient to manage all this. This task should be handled by templates that automatically insert the necessary data where there is none.
Again, opencart doesn’t even have a normal cnc out of the box, in the Russian assembly it is immediately replaced with SeoPro, which in turn may conflict with other seo modules.
Plus, you need to finish the micro-markup, breadcrumbs, 301 redirects, sitemap, duplicates, that is, everything in general. And this is a basic necessity, and not some specific custom there.
Design
Here everything is quite strange. On the one hand, there are twisted shops, which make it clear how a good design should look like. On the other hand, template creators tend to do the opposite for some reason.
95% of everything that I saw on themeforest resembles either the design of personal blogs or Internet portals from troubled times with dragons and pompoms.
For some reason, everyone thinks that the product page should be 800 pixels wide, and when you hover over the image, the image should jump, mirror and push buttons across it.
An example of good design is Megashop for ImageCMS.
Live community
Here, the leader is probably Opencart, for my part this is a pretty strong factor, since the work on the site will not cost so much, and most of the problems can be easily googled. The presto and megento forums froze somewhere in 2014, and the price of modules there sometimes reaches the price of a paid engine.
Of the interesting ones, I singled out:
Moguta: In general, everything is fine, the only thing is the lack of a new mail delivery module, and the templates to choose from are rather mediocre.
Yupe: according to the description, everything is great, I haven’t poked the admin panel yet. Of the minuses - a young project, an almost empty forum, the absence of the same new mail. I will follow the development.
ImageCMS: everything is cool, but expensive. In other matters, all the finished drinks may cost so much.

I did not see anything that could affect the choice of engine for IM. In general, for IM there is nothing in this footcloth of "criteria" common to ALL sites of ANY type ..
Ok .. almost all and almost any. :)
"Here" is where ? ;) (rhetorical question)
