Which area of software development has the most "algorithmic" programming?

Recently I realized one thing - I don’t want to deal with web development all my life. I want to do pure, concentrated programming. In web development, there are often many minor things: layout, selection of a domain and hosting, content filling, work with website design, etc. When I do all this, I feel like I'm wasting time, because I could solve more complex problems for more pay.
At school, I was good at solving problems in technical subjects: algebra, geometry, chemistry. As the nuts clicked, the teachers praised. I tried to transfer these skills to algorithmic tasks - in general, it started to work out. And most importantly, there is genuine interest in this.
Please tell me in what area you need to think as well as possible in algorithms, where the skills of solving such problems, brought to automatism, are valued? It is desirable, of course, that it is well paid. Robotics programming comes to mind, but so far there are not many vacancies.
