Where to start learning for freelance/remote work: java or javascript?

There is a complete noob of average stupidity in the amount of one piece. The noob is looking towards java for android, or javascript with node.js. The goal of a noob is to start earning money on freelance/remote work as soon as possible , and also not to give up on learning the language in the process of achieving this pink dream (I think these goals are related, since the lack of a visible result for a long period of time is demotivating; at the time, how the presence of profit inspires faith in a brighter future).
What language do you recommend? (your answers are possible :) )

Java is not the freelancer's way.
These are enterprise technologies, and on freelance, you can only program on it under the android UI.
But JavaScript is a good choice.
The competition is high only at the near-zero level of knowledge, but having already reached the junior level, you will consistently receive orders, the Indians will not take them away from you.
I advise you to start with a popular front-end framework, popularity directly on the exchange and determine by search.

I myself program in java for a long time. trust me... it will take a long time to study. then in work to apply - quite another. let alone freelance as a competent developer in this language. there they pay a lot only to specialists with great experience, but if there is no experience, you will write desktop mostly. The web will not let you write - others will take it away. competition. there is also competition in javascript... there are schoolchildren working for bread, and students, and sharks with a rating on fl.ru for 200 positive reviews. here. not everything is so simple :) you need to learn a language first out of interest, looking a little at the community :) when I studied programming languages. Well, if you take the time. I started with si. Then after half a year I switched to C++. I wrote on it through win-api (with event handling in one method) the game "bee". tired of it. went to sea sharp. there reached wpf .. later switched to java. not to mention before that about trying to write in php, javascript, lisp. in total it took me 2 years to choose java. it took a long time for the toad .. uh ...
GOOD LUCK, dear friend :)

Javascript has a lower entry threshold, I would generally advise you to switch to Java, having previously studied (at least superficially) C ++. Anyway, it happened to me that at first I studied C ++, and then everything else, and I can say that after it other languages (especially with similar syntax) are much easier to learn.

Learn C first. Move on to JavaScript later
