Which alternative optibay to choose for MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2012 MD101?
I decided to make a small upgrade for macbook pro mid 2012, namely, to put an additional hdd instead of an optical drive.
After reading the forums and looking at the stores, I found a whole zoo of adapters, which, in addition, have very conflicting reviews regarding the controllers installed in them and the quality of the materials used to manufacture them (flimsy, crappy bolts, connectors are falling apart, etc.). Therefore, a reasonable question arises, which particular device to take.
Requires hdd support at least up to 750 Gb, stable operation, good fit to the niche form factor for installation in the MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2012 MD101 (so that there are no backlashes and do not require re-drilling).
I found these options in stores:
OWC Data Doubler Optical Bay Hard Drive

MCE OptiBay

Protronix Hard Drive Caddy for Unibody Macbook

JUYO VONSAN Hard Drive Caddy

Hard Drive Caddy Tray for Apple Unibody Macbook

Optibay for MacBook Pro

Second HDD Caddy
www.buygadget.ru/collection/Akssessuary-for-Mac/pr.. And a
wagon and a small cart of similar adapters on ebay.
Please, if someone has experience using these devices, please share your impressions.
Thanks in advance.

I have a MacBook Pro 13 Late 2011, I bought it at youroptibay, you can also find it at the buygadget link. When replacing, no re-drilling was required, and the backlash that you wrote about. An SSD is installed in place of the regular one, and 1Tb in the optibay WD. I am satisfied with the purchase
I recommend as a master to take the first option OWC Data Doubler Optical Bay Hard Drive
www.amazon.com/dp/B00724W0N2
It is thin and the screw cable will not bend over it (and it often fails due to metal optibays). Remaining slag
