It is regularly required to buy several hundreds and thousands of domains in batches. For technical purposes, therefore, the domain zone is not particularly important. Since this is a decent item of expenditure, it is required to reduce it as much as possible.
Previously used alpnames domain registrar, (they had low prices for all kinds of domain names like gdn / xyz / icu) but it recently closed. Since then, I periodically find some promotions from different registrars, but they are either limited or not regular.
A domain registrar is required that satisfies several conditions:
1. To be as cheap as possible, and that the registrar always has low prices for at least some domain zone (no more than $1);
2. Acceptance of bitcoin (this is not absolutely necessary, but the possibility of buying domains for bitcoins would be a big plus), or at least poisonous / Qiwi / WM, and not just cards and PayPal;
3. The presence of an API with at least the functionality of registering and changing nameservers;
4. No limits on the number of domains (promotions where you can register only 1 domain in one hand are not of interest);
5. No restrictions on the use of domains (for example, where it is impossible to delegate a domain with its own DNS servers to any shareware domains that in fact do not belong to you after registration, or when you reach a certain attendance, you suddenly need to pay 10 dollars - they are not interested);
6. Without conditions like "the first year of registration for a penny when paying exorbitant prices for several years", or "domain for free when buying hosting" - all this is not interesting.
- no requirement for mandatory account verification, sms requests - passport scans - selfies;
7. The adequacy of the registrar (so that they are not blocked in case of fake complaints from competitors);
8. Registered not in Russian jurisdiction (again, there is a sad experience when Russian registrars blocked domains at the request of Roskomnadzor, and the RKN sent them not without the participation of competitors, although they violated nothing, it makes no sense to argue with them and prove something in the courts none):
9. Reliability (stable operation of the registrar for at least a couple of years, availability of reviews);
10. Free or nominal cost data hiding (Whois Protect or GDPR Protect).
