Where to place a project with a request for donations?

Hello.
There is an idea to create custom firmware for GBS8200
The device is popular among fans of old hardware and consoles and suffers from diseases of cheap Chinese firmware.
I studied the issue, collected all the documentation and found out that a programmer worth about $ 350 is needed to implement the project.
On one of the forums, in principle, they came to the conclusion that if in the end there is a good free firmware, then no one minds donating some amount ... I think with some publicity, it will be possible to collect $350 without problems.
In this regard, the question is: where to place a project with a convenient donate mechanism?
I don’t think that with such projects they go to kistarter .... but maybe I’m mistaken?

Well, 350 bucks is not even a programmer's weekly salary, what's the point of collecting so much? Just buy this programmer for yourself and make firmware, and I think there are a lot of people who have such a programmer and lie unnecessarily.
It is logical to post on the forums where you learned all this.
