Where to learn algorithms?

I have learned python quite well, in my opinion. I was going to start learning algorithms. I found a course from CST, but after this lecture I realized one thing - I did not understand anything. What is induction on n? why do I raise to the half power n? Advise a clearer course or literature that can be studied to understand the course
PS found this www.math.nsc.ru/LBRT/k5/OR-MMF/dasgupta_2014.pdf Who read it, tell me: is it worth wasting time and reading?

Go to kodwars and swing there at least up to 4 cue, then smart books will become clearer. :)

Kormen. Algorithms introductory course (well, or T. Kormen - Algorithms. Construction and analysis)
Dasgupta S., Papadimitriou H., Vazirani U. - Algorithms - 2014 is good in tandem with the course of lectures from Lektorium.

@Question_man

This book echoes the course you named. In addition, it was translated by the author of this course)). So, if Stepik's course is not clear, then the book will most likely be difficult to understand too. On my own behalf, joining some previous commentators, I can advise you to first restore the basic knowledge of the school mathematics course. Then I would advise you to take up the basics of combinatorics. As for me, it contributes to a better understanding of many things in programming.
