Where to go to study (Profession)
Hello, I would like to ask a question to an already trained programmer of this site.
Where to go to study to work as a programmer in the future, specifically to develop applied / web applications.
I live in Tyumen, so I'll ask for the approximate name of the faculty at the university.
At the moment I'm 16 years old and I speak (I won't say that it's professional, but pretty good):
- CSharp
- Java
- С++ (a little bit)
And of course, English.
Thank you for your attention, and I will wait for adequate answers.

In Russia, development is practically not taught anywhere. So either go to another country, or choose from mathematical specialties (Applied Mathematics), and this choice must be made by yourself, so as not to complain later: "what idiots on the toaster advised me to go to this dull, boring faculty."
A programmer is a very broad concept. A computer is such a thing that can count, transmit, network, write to HDD and draw on the screen. What you will automate is up to you. After all, the same games are the automation of drawing geometric primitives and calculating lighting. Databases are about automating the processing of structured data and searching-modifying-adding them. In Russia, no one prepares pure programmers, because. to do this, you need to grow a whole generation of highly qualified specialists who will remain in universities, and not be dumped to the west. No one has stopped the brain drain yet, so that's how things are. You can go to the same TSU. Graduate as a specialist and come to St. Petersburg or Moscow time for a postgraduate master's degree. In any case, programming will have to be learned at night, because. our education is strongly matan, theoretical physics and other legacy of the USSR in terms of theoretical background. And the programming is very weak. In all sorts of Yandex master's schools, they take according to the results of the test in matan, theory and a few algorithms. So the main thing is not to merge 1-3 courses (where is the most matan).
Go to study at any technical university where there is at least one of these specialties:
- Information systems and technologies
- Software for computer technology and automated systems
- Computing systems, complexes and networks
- Automation of technological processes and production
No one will teach you technologies at the institute, but it's worth finishing it nonetheless. Learn technology yourself. There is no hope for a university. Try to try as many directions in programming as possible and decide what you like best. Move there.
