Where to go in the installation?

Hello guys! I started to comprehend video editing (the familiar YouTube channel does, I had to figure out the program),
I know premiere at a primitive level, I went to see freelance orders on this topic for the sake of interest and at first glance there is 30% like 2 fingers on the asphalt, and another 20% from the category "Googling in 5 minutes." I am thinking about the possibility of freelancing. Please tell me what to read, how to develop, what to do to advance in this and
start earning?
It seems to me that globally I have 2 problems:
1. Not on "You" with the After Effect
2. I'm not very good at editing from an artistic point of view, I'm not sure how best to compose to make it better, more beautiful, etc.
Many thanks in advance!

IMHO, the easiest way is to open any site on request "After Effects footage / projects", download which ones you like and try to figure out how they work.
As an example - editlw.ru/news.php?readmore=969 (first found link from Google, you can find better).
Understand how it works, then try to remake it for yourself (say, remake it from a school theme to a wedding theme), then assemble something similar (or even similar) from scratch ... etc.
When you meet something incomprehensible - google, watch lessons, read books ... I won’t tell you specific books, here you need to choose for yourself, but I also don’t advise you to do without theory at all - you need to at least understand the principles of how video is stored in different formats, what codecs are what filters work how, etc.
You meet an unfamiliar plug-in - install, study. Without them, serious projects are not complete.
On the N-th dozen of dismantled projects, you will have to understand how it all works, how to do what the customer intended and how beautiful / fashionable it will be.
As for earnings, I would have no particular illusions. People who can take a suitable project from the stock and fill it with their pictures / texts - dofiga, the competition is high and the prices for such purely technical work are extremely low.
To move to a higher league, you need a lot of experience and a beautiful portfolio somewhere on the behance. But this is not a matter of one year of hard work.
The alternative is the local market. You can become widely known in the local pond pretty quickly, and take orders from people who do not know how to search / work with remote performers. There, prices are usually higher (customers simply do not know market prices), and the likelihood of being thrown is much less.
But in any case, reaching a normal income is very, very difficult. I would pump at the same time adjacent areas, say manual animation, vector graphics, colorization, editing, 3D ...
