Where to apply BigData?

Hello! I decided to discover the world of BigData for myself, but I just can’t figure out where to start. I work in the department of claims work in a bank, I am engaged in the analysis of claims on bank cards (disputable transactions). I understand intellectually that there is a lot of data, the data is structured, but I don’t understand how to apply knowledge about BigData in my work. Can you please push in the right direction?
