Where should a student start?
Dear IT people. A student of the 1st year of the technical direction of the university is contacting you. In grades 10-11, he programmed mathematical problems very well in Pascal, even went to the All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics at the regional stage. I passed the exam again in computer science for the maximum score. Now at the university I have a lot of free time (about 4-5 hours a day), and I just don’t know what to do with myself. Someone will say to read textbooks on mathematical analysis and discrete mathematics, and I will answer that I have time to do this too. Someone will say to play DotA / organize student events / visit girls, but I don’t feel any pleasure from this at all. But I have a very burning desire to join some IT company and create something great, something that will really help people. But I have absolutely no idea what should I do to achieve this. I don’t understand many of the posts of avid Habra progers at all, unfamiliar words, things and actions are everywhere, I try to read and figure out what these people are doing, but I get even more confused. I am most attracted to mobile app development, but again, having seen a couple of dozen videos with Android Studio tutorials on a simple application, I don’t understand at all how high-level applications are created then, such as the wonderfully designed brainchild of the Finnish company Supercell. After reading about their history, I saw that they mention the binding of C ++ code to Java Script, and again, I don’t understand at all how they can interact, how these two languages \u200b\u200bcan be connected, what functions to use, how game physics are implemented, etc. All this I want to understand, but I can not, as I have only knowledge of Console Application C ++. Dear IT people!!! Where do I start, what to do and what to do in my free time.
