Where is the base directory of the virtual machine located?

I have ssd and hdd in my computer, they are separated so that the / home directory is located on hdd, and all the rest on ssd. I'm importing a VM and the default base directory is a subdirectory under /home/myuser/VirtualBox VMs - i.e. on the hdd. Will the fact that it will be located on hdd affect the speed of work, or is it worth changing the location on ssd to something like /var/virtualbox/VirtualBox VMs ?

It will affect the speed of work, since ssd can be faster than hdd, but I also advise you to take into account free space on ssd and hdd
