Switching from windows to ubuntu gui?

Hello. I have one question:
I work as an administrator at a small company. The license was not enough for me;) There is software that works only under Windows. This is only 1 program. But they interact with her every day. There is an idea to install ubuntu, and then install open source software, and raise a virtual machine with win7, for example, a trial one. And, if necessary, use the software. They will not buy a license.
Any interesting thoughts or tips on this?

And what is the question? The trial period of Windows is three days. No, you can reinstall every three days. An interesting thought is to use wine if possible. Not every program will work in it, but if it works, and if the program itself is free - PROFIT!

Different versions of Windows have different evaluation periods, such as up to 90 days. And you can just install it on your computer, without any additional OS. But in this case, you need to familiarize yourself with the question of whether this trial period will be allowed for your business.

in this case, it’s better to administer from under PE on a flash drive, otherwise uncles will come and start bending their fingers like a fan, and why do you have windows on a virtual machine without a license.
