Where do chats with unknown people come from in Telegram?

In telegram, in the chat tab, there are a couple of unknown personalities with meaningless names. In contacts (in telegram) they are not. There are no short names in the profile.
If they are in my address book, why don't their names match the names in the address book?
If they're not in my address book, where did they come from?
