I want to reserve a couple of .news domain names for a couple of months, is it possible to do this somewhere?

You can reserve when registration is not yet open for TLD. Then before the release, registrars open up Landrush and you can queue up to register a particular domain, or apply for a reservation if you're a trademark owner.
No one will keep it for you for a couple of months. Register now. First come, first served.
