Where can I read good material on how to set up test servers on linux?

I want to switch to linux. But as a website developer, I need to run them on my machine. Google gives links to raising servers for sites, but I don’t know the subtleties yet, maybe these articles for servers for development are redundant. Yes, I'm a Linux noob. Suggest good stuff.

@cssman

you take any virtual environment (vmware, virtualbox, whatever it is and which is more convenient) and raise the distribution kit you need.
how to raise the required assembly - google
what books to read about Linux - google or similar questions:
one
two
three
four
general advice in general sounds like "learn to google"

1. hetzner -30 days free server, any
2. Install web panels (it makes no sense to install pure Apache without config generators)
1. ispconfig3 - free and functional, but if you manage to install it, you will learn half of the server along the way. (recommended)
2. vestacp - and it even works, installed with one script
3. brainycp - awesome functionality and at the same time it works like a clock, but they are not friendly with the adequacy of iterface.
4. Bitrix VM - cheap and cheerful and works, not for Bitrix you will need to change 1 parameter.
For home use on Windows Openserver - Denver did not lie nearby.
In terms of mana and where to study and what to do, I can offer an internship with me.
Site transfers, php version upgrades, problem solving, script writing, etc.
nginx apache and so on and so forth. But you have to study and work

1. You just take a not very old computer from your and neighbor's closet 2. Download the distribution
kit for installation ... here the problems begin)))
)))
b) how to put it right... select the installation source: USB, DVD-ROM, Net. Sometimes dancing with a tambourine))) ... "well, a stupid program, why do you need CD when I install from USB"
c) Choosing the necessary packages ... there are also pitfalls here. What if you need Python2.7 and Python3.3 at the same time)))
d) Are you paranoid? Log processing. Starting from why the picture is not given ... to ... how the site was hacked))) ... although this can be attributed to the paragraph above PACKAGES.
.... etc )))
Briefly speaking. Are you bored? As a website developer, you don't need Linux. But for the developer of complex systems, including highly loaded sites - start! . As for Google, you have already been advised. And then beat your head on the keyboard (learn) to solve problems.
