Where can I find monitor settings in the registry?

The bottom line is this - my vidyuha GeForce 260 does not hold more than two monitors (and 2 monitors are connected via VGA and DVI) and a TV set via HDMI. To bring the image to the telly, you have to chop off one of the monitors. I want to automate the process of disconnecting / connecting the monitor with some script, so that I switch monitor parameters in the registry (disable the second one, connect the third one). In this regard, the question is - where is the info about which monitor is currently active + where is the way to display the picture in the registry (duplicate screens or expand the desktop)
