Where can I find examples or documentation on the EAV data model?

Didn't find any worthwhile resource. I came across only an example of tables and came to the conclusion that different products may have the same properties that will be duplicated in the attribute table, which can lead to significant data redundancy in the database.

Or should there be no duplicate attributes?
