Where can I find a tracker like RescueTime but with a full API?
I use RescueTime for myself.
I all like it, tracking programs, tracking open documents, tracking websites with an indication of the site (you can specify that habr is very useful and giktimes is not very), android client, support for various devices,
but now it became necessary to take into account the documents that come with work in the android application and classify them into different categories. The application cannot be modified, but it is possible to read data from it by another application, but it is impossible to feed RescueTime data like "app com.test.xxx current document Document1 tags aaa, bbb,cc" is open.
RescueTime cannot accept such data through its public API.
what can be found to replace RescueTime?
you can pay but with a not very expensive plan for the average user.
critical clients for OS X + Chrome Extension + (preferably) Android (4.x-6.x)
as well as APIs that can be said from my application something like "this application is currently active, working with a document called 'Capture Plan Mira', assign it to the category Business -> General'
Preferably as similar as possible to RescueTime in the web interface.
If there is an import from RescueTime, then it's very good.
Screenshots every N minutes - it doesn't matter (the data is only for yourself anyway)
no bills for customers activity accounting is desirable, but only in the sense that if habr
is open but I haven’t touched the mouse and keyboard for 5 minutes, then maybe I’m sitting on a laptop / tablet
?
bug trackers like JIRA/Redmine are not
systems like Hubstuff/tahometer - also not that (this is time tracking for a specific project, but you need general analytics)
wakatime.com does not like the fact that it does not know how to collect statistics with Chrome (although it is planned there) , and also does not know how to completely take into account other applications, for example, on Mail.app or there Scrivener (for which there are no Wakatime integrations and probably will not be) (for Android, you can eventually add it yourself)
Just take it and write it yourself.
ps
RescueTime support ticket with a description of what I would like from the API - sent
