Where are the proximity sensor settings in an android smartphone?

Tell me, where are the sensitivity settings for the proximity sensor on android 6.0.1? I want to calibrate the sensor, it is too insensitive (it works only at a distance of 1-2 cm from the obstacle). Phone Sony Xperia z5 compact, firmware official Android 6.0.1.
Will reinstalling the kernel or flashing it help? Resetting the settings did not work.
I am asking for help from knowledgeable people.

It may be that the sensor is physically able to recognize objects only at a distance of 1-2 cm, and flashing will not help here.
