Where are skype text messages sent?

Dear friends, tell me if anyone knows. Where exactly does the skype client send a text message created by me or my interlocutor? To the skype.com server, directly to the interlocutor, or somewhere else? Is there a message log on the skype server? And how can I find out exactly where (preferably the ip-address) my computer is addressing when I send a message to the interlocutor? Thank you for your help.

Sent to the Skype server (after the purchase of Skype by small software).
The message log is kept.

Thanks for the answer. Tell me how to check it? When I send a message with something (netstat, etc.), I can see the computer's call to skype.com

You can see the client's appeal to supernodes. Read without decoding.

First to Microsoft, then to the Pentagon, and then to the addressee.
But seriously, Skype uses p2p as far as I know. Previously, when the history was stored only locally, then the transfer of messages and files was carried out from computer to computer. The Skype server was only used to create the connection.
Now that the history is clearly stored online, it is obvious that the messages are also transmitted to Microsoft's servers. But I'm sure that only copies are sent there, but in fact the network work has remained the same p2p.
