Where and what does my smartphone send?

Good evening!
There is a closed App for iOS (sorry, I can’t reveal the name yet) that creates and processes photos.
Question: how can I find out if the photo is sent for processing to the X server or is the app still processing the photo on the smartphone?
Are there any traffic control tools to determine what infa or what packet size is being sent somewhere?

You can use a sniffer to monitor traffic, wireshark for example.
