When to start embedding ads in apps?

How many thousands of active installs (several apps in total) do you need to have to start thinking about embedding ads there. Is there any rough formula for ad revenue per number of users? And where can I get this ad?

Everything is different here. I think after 500-1000 users you can add ads. Income is about $ 1 per 1000 impressions. It can be much more (depending on the country of users and the number of clicks on ads). I'm using Google's AdMob to integrate ads.
