When did Google's responsive design disappear?

Those who frequently visit Google services may be watching their style change (from the latter to a lighter menu style). I looked at it, admired it, and suddenly remembered that once Google tried to make its page with manifesting controls . Then, when it was introduced, they talked a lot about it, and then the design quietly disappeared without a trace.

Attempts to google the ends and the reasons for abandoning this design did not work. Maybe someone from Khabrov knows when and why Google abandoned the adaptive page?

PS It is also interesting when the "light menu" can be seen at regional offices, otherwise the menu on google.com.ua is still classic, although the design on google.com has changed a long time ago.
