What would you recommend good materials on mathematics and probability theory?

I became interested in latent semantic analysis and the like, namely PLSA and Latent Dirichlet placement, but the attempt to figure it out turned into hell. Googling what I don't understand turns into some kind of recursion.
No matter how much I look at the information about this analysis, everywhere there is a mathematical description through probabilities and I just don’t understand how to compose algorithms for all these probabilities ... tell me in which direction to dig.
I am not very friendly with mathematics, but I believe in myself).

попробуйте эту книгу понять: Теория вероятностей : учебник для втузов / Печинкин А. В . - отличная книга из серии Баумана. Если не сможете, то школьную математику придется закрывать за 11 классов. вообще, неплохо бы уметь решать все такие задачи
