I, being a beginner, installed Ubuntu 12.04. There are some problems, the cause of which, I think, was the installation from wubi (the system is installed as an application in windows, ubuntu can be uninstalled from the control panel). In general, everything is fine, install the latest 12.04 lts with long-term support.
