What useful thing would you build from a 2x2x4m frame? Giant 3D Printer?
Hello dear community. The so-called flasher is idle at the university - a bright flash at the top of a closed frame, which shines on the solar panels inside and measures currents and voltages at the time of the flash. By autumn, it will be replaced by a more progressive model, but what to do with the frame and flash has not yet been decided. The frame is approximately 2x2x4 meters, consists of aluminum square profiles and plywood, is quite stable and you can screw anything to it. I am a student and work part-time at the university with 3D printing, the idea came up to make a large FDM printer out of this frame. But I have absolutely no idea that you can print this size? Besides all sorts of giant death stars and Dutch plastic houses, there are apparently not many uses for printers of this size.
Is it worth taking and what to print? Is this frame suitable for such purposes? What would you make of this goodness?
The university is primarily engaged in energy and mechanical engineering, the necessary funds for the project are not difficult to organize, especially if it pays for itself. The most daring proposals are accepted.
