What to use instead of checkinstall's?

There is a clean CentOS 6. I don’t want to litter its software through make install, but I still can’t find my favorite checkinstall. In search of.

Dear. Let's figure it out. Checkinstall is needed in order to avoid the negative consequences of make install.
Download from the developer's site? rpmok is not there, and collecting it is of course an option, but do what you are trying to get away from in order to get away from it? Strange approach.
Hume is good, but it's not on rpmforge, elrep'e and epel'e.
That is the problem.

Download the latest version from the developer's site? Or is there some other problem?
