What to take: ASP.NET MVC or JavaScript?
While the system administrator is in technical support. I really don't like it, including the shift schedule. I want to retrain on the web, frontend. Which tool to choose? I look at vacancies in asp.net mvc - it also occurs in JavaScript requirements there.
Why web? I tried html a little as a student - I liked it, it seemed simple and you can immediately see the result, you don’t need to install or configure anything additionally. It is also an opportunity to quickly implement something important and convey it with the power of the site. For example, local Greenpeace volunteers help put out fires in the region, guided by thermal images from meteorological satellites. I wanted to write a website that takes these pictures to itself and processes them in some way (fire statistics, for example). There is also an idea, but for convenience - using data visualization on the site, for example, using the processing language (there seems to be a js-implementation).
Goals:
1. Select a tool.
2. Retrain and leave technical support for the web from next year.
English: I understand simple sentences, I read more complex ones with difficulty and with a dictionary.

JavaScript is something that is always in demand, everywhere.
ASP.NET MVC is not so popular with us, but if you are thinking of going abroad or working in a foreign company, then it is better to choose MVC.
Learn JS and its frameworks, there are not enough front-end people.
As everyone advises you, JS is the right tool for you. + You will need more time to fully learn ASP.NET MVC (.NET + C#) than JS.
ASP.NET MVC is more of a backend, where knowledge of JS is also useful for organizing the frontend.
