What to read about data analysis?

What to read about some general concepts of data analysis, statistical there, some other? Just some general concepts, concepts, without reference to specific individual applications. Are there any good articles? Or even books?

Best book: Practical Business Statistics by Andrew Siegel.

The above "Programming the collective mind" is also not bad.
Peter Flack's book "Machine Learning" is not for beginners.
"Building Machine Learning Systems ..." is also, in general, not for primary reading.

If your English is ok (or you want to improve), then I recommend Doing Data Science
www.amazon.com/Doing-Data-Science-Straight-Frontli... I
ordered and read the paper version, but there is also an electronic one at www.allitebooks.com
" What the numbers say" read, normal, but seemed blurry.
