What to do with Synology DS207+?
There is a subject machine (http://www.synology.su/products/16).
It has long been replaced by a modern analogue and lies - gathering dust.
She has a little illness - she sometimes loses one screw (I don’t know if the motherboard or the cable is buggy, I changed the cable - it worked like a clock for another six months, then it lost the disk again, as a result I bought a replacement).
DSM 4 does not get up on it, I have not seen alternative firmware for Synology.
Question: what interesting things can be done with it so that it does not gather dust, but works and benefits?

As for the use, unfortunately there are no ideas. But I'll try to deal with the loss of the disk. If the “upper” HDD is lost www.thg.ru/network/synology_ds207/synology_ds207_screenshots_6_1.html , then the reason is most likely the static voltage of the SATA cable, leading to a deterioration in the contact in one of the pads (I would assume in the hard drive, there is also heating from actually ZhD). Take a train of greater length and wind it around a pencil with a spiral.
So, is everything ok with the hard drive?
well this piece is supposed that is used for data storage. it still apparently has a web server (I don’t remember what is in the 3rd version already)
download torrents ... for phones, browsers, there are all kinds of addons to simplify this procedure. just store data that has no material value ...
